Progress Documentation

A six-month dollhouse build generates a lot of photos, notes, and memories. The Progress Documentation feature helps you build a beautiful timeline of your creation from start to finish.

1. The progress timeline

Every project has a dedicated Timeline tab. This acts as an interactive journal, automatically organizing your notes, photos, and milestones in chronological order.

Project timeline showing a chronological list of updates with photos and notes — See your build come to life

  1. Open your project.
  2. Click the Timeline tab.
  3. Here you will see a vertical timeline outlining everything that has happened with the build, starting from the day it was created!

2. Adding milestones

Milestones are major events in your build, such as "Finished Foundation," "Completed Wiring," or "Roof Installed."

  1. Inside the Timeline tab, click Add Update.
  2. Select the Type as "Milestone."
  3. Give the milestone a short, powerful title.
  4. Click Save Update.
  5. Milestones appear prominently in color on your timeline to mark significant progress!

3. Writing progress notes

Sometimes you just want to jot down a quick note, such as what color paint you used, or a problem you encountered while gluing flooring.

  1. Inside the Timeline tab, click Add Update.
  2. Select the Type as "Note."
  3. Type out your thoughts or instructions for yourself.
  4. Click Save Update.
  5. Your note is permanently recorded for future reference.

4. Uploading progress photos

The best part of documentation is the pictures! You can upload work-in-progress (WIP) photos directly to the timeline.

  1. Inside the Timeline tab, click Add Update.
  2. Select the Type as "Photo."
  3. A photo uploader will appear. Drag and drop your WIP photo.
  4. Add a short caption (e.g., "Starting to lay the hardwood floor").
  5. Click Upload & Save.

These photos are stored securely inside your project and will eventually tell the complete story of your miniature build.

5. Filtering timeline entries

If your timeline gets too long, you can filter it down to find exactly what you are looking for.

  1. Look for the Filter menu above the timeline entries.
  2. Check or uncheck the boxes for Milestones, Notes, Photos, or Expenses.
  3. The timeline will instantly update to show only the selected types of entries!
